Welcome

We are glad you are here.  Lafayette is a great place to live.  As we face uncertainty around us, we can work to keep Lafayette a place where everyone is welcome and where people of all ages can find a well-run city with many opportunities for recreation, services, and economic growth, as well as a variety of housing types.

Annmarie is running for City Council to help Lafayette achieve its greenhouse gas reduction goals, create a livable community with housing for all, and support an economy that provides jobs, opportunity, and equity, especially for those who are often marginalized. She’s committed to preserving what makes Lafayette special while helping shape a future that protects the rights of our diverse community. This includes expanding transit options and promoting bike- and pedestrian-friendly design to reduce vehicle miles traveled. Our candidate supports outdoor spaces and public lands that are protected and well-stewarded.

City of Lafayette

Parks and Recreation

Let's keep expanding opportunities in Lafayette to enjoy the outdoors.

Transportation

The City maintains roadways and sidewalks and bike lanes.  We need to expand transit and link non-motorized forms of travel, so an automobile is not our only choice.

Housing

Lafayette can do more to meet the housing needs of middle and lower income residents.

A little more about Annmarie

Annmarie has lived in Lafayette for 10 years.  She has served on the Livable Lafayette Advisory Board, the Planning Commission, the East Lafayette Advisory Committee (oversight of the planning for Willoughby Corner) and the Zoning and Land Use Code Committee.  Annmarie has two sons who live in Boulder County and three grandchildren. She has a rescue dog named Peanut.

Annmarie has been a public policy advocate for more than 40 years – most recently as the Executive Director of the East County Housing Opportunity Coalition and as leader with Together Colorado. Prior to that Annmarie was a public interest advocate at the Colorado Capitol for more than 30 years.

Annmarie loves to dance and is a regular at the Lafayette YMCA Zumba classes. She recently won the Judges' Choice Award at Dancing with the Boulder Stars to benefit the YWCA of Boulder County. She believes our community needs to continue to include opportunities to play. Annmarie plays bluegrass mandolin, and you can sometimes find her playing in jams around town. Her son bought her a T-shirt that says, I play the mandolin because I like it, not because I am good. She thinks the shirt is true.

Affordable housing and green development

Annmarie is an affordable housing advocate. We have many examples of affordable housing in Colorado and in Lafayette that are beautiful, cost-effective, and neighborhood-enhancing. Thanks to state, local, and federal rebates, Annmarie was able to invest in energy and water saving options for her own home. She feels that everyone should be able to afford energy efficiency improvements. She will work to provide options for water and energy improvements to everyone at all income levels. She supported the net-zero geothermal energy development at Willoughby Corner. Annmarie believes any new development in Lafayette should be less auto-dependent.

Annmarie has 30 plus years of public policy experience that she wants to use to help us become the best community we can be.
